❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about the platform.
Chemikalien Katalog is a digital expo for the global chemical industry — an always-open online showcase where chemical companies present their products, catalogs and capabilities to buyers worldwide. Picture a trade fair that never closes: you walk the aisles, visit company booths and connect with suppliers any time, from anywhere.
Chemikalien Katalog is not a single website: it is part of an ecosystem of 8 global domains publishing in 3 languages (English, Türkçe, Deutsch). Your booth is visible across the entire network:
- English: scmist.com, sellchemical.com, sellchemicals.com
- Türkçe: kimyasanayii.com
- Deutsch: chemikalienexpo.com, chemikalienexpo.de, chemikalienkatalog.de
Create your booth once — the Chemikalien Katalog ecosystem does the rest. Your company is part of a network of 8 country domains in 3 languages: you can introduce your company in Turkish, while the same booth is presented to German and European buyers in German and to the North American and global market in English. Every domain shows your profile in its own language, so you exhibit internationally without extra work:
- English: scmist.com, sellchemical.com, sellchemicals.com
- Türkçe: kimyasanayii.com
- Deutsch: chemikalienexpo.com, chemikalienexpo.de, chemikalienkatalog.de
A digital expo is a permanent online version of a trade fair. For buyers: browse and compare suppliers worldwide in minutes — no travel, no badges, no opening hours. For suppliers: a booth that works around the clock in front of a global audience, at a fraction of the cost of a physical stand. Because it never closes and spans markets, your reach is not limited to a few days in one city.
Yes. One company can have several user logins on Chemikalien Katalog, so a whole team can maintain the booth and respond to visitor inquiries together — not just one person.
Each team member has a role:
- Owner — full control of the company account, including billing and team management.
- Co-owner — same management abilities as the owner (except the owner cannot be removed), useful for a deputy or partner.
- User — granted access only to the specific areas you choose: company info, product catalog, Trade Board (buying and/or selling), articles, events, inquiries and more.
This means you can let, say, one colleague manage the product catalog while another handles Trade Board posts and a third answers buyer inquiries — each seeing only what they need. Team members can also appear as named contacts on your public booth so visitors know who they are reaching.
Yes. An enterprise (holding) account on Chemikalien Katalog lets one organisation run several sister companies — each with its own booth, products and public page — all managed from a single headquarters (HQ) view.
- HQ creates each subsidiary and invites the people who will run it.
- Every sister company has its own owner and its own team of users, with the same role choices (owner, co-owner, user) and per-area permissions as any company.
- HQ keeps an overview of the whole group and can choose, per subsidiary, whether HQ pays for that company's purchases or the subsidiary pays for itself.
This suits a parent company with multiple brands or regional businesses that each need their own presence, while head office keeps central oversight.
An enterprise holding buys one shared pool of product slots for all its companies. By default every company draws from that pool freely — first come, first served.
The holding administrator can instead switch the group to assigned mode and give each company its own share, including the head office. Each company can then only use its own allocation; unassigned slots stay in reserve at the administrator's discretion. Switching is safe: every company starts at exactly what it already uses, and an allocation can never be set below a company's current usage.
If your company's allocation is full, contact your holding administrator — they can raise it from the group's reserve or move the group back to the shared pool.
A directory is a static list of names. A marketplace pushes you toward transactions and takes a cut. Chemikalien Katalog is neither — it is a living expo. Companies build rich booths with catalogs, documents and team contacts; buyers explore, compare and connect directly, with no middleman and no commission. You keep the relationship — we just provide the hall.
No. Chemikalien Katalog is a digital exhibition — the online equivalent of a chemical industry trade fair. We sell nothing, list no product prices, process no orders and take no commission. Exhibitors present their company and products in a booth; the depth of the booth depends on which of the three exhibitor tiers they hold. Visitors browse freely, and business is concluded directly between the parties. Even exhibiting itself has no public price tag — it begins with a personal quotation. Chemikalien Katalog is part of an ecosystem of 8 global domains in 3 languages, so exhibitors reach an international audience from a single booth.
Yes — Chemikalien Katalog is built privacy-first. Staff email addresses are never displayed publicly. Sensitive details such as direct phone numbers appear only on paid booths, and only when a visitor actively chooses to reveal them. When you send an inquiry or quote request, only the information you include is shared, and it goes to the supplier's dashboard rather than being broadcast. You stay in control of what you expose and to whom.
Chemikalien Katalog has four access levels, each unlocking more:
- Visitor (no account) — browse the expo, company booths and catalogs.
- Personal-email account — a verified personal login.
- Work-email account — verify your company and unlock free supplier actions: send inquiries, request quotes, samples and meeting requests, leave reviews.
- Paid plan — your own company booth plus premium tools: product documents (SDS/TDS), phone reveal, the Trade Board, your dashboard, and banner advertising.
You move up simply by registering with the right email and choosing a plan.
<p>Chemikalien Katalog has one registration form. Enter your email address and the system recognises the account type automatically:</p><ul><li><strong>Work email</strong> (your company domain) opens an <strong>exhibitor account</strong>: contact companies, request quotations and build your own booth.</li><li><strong>Personal email</strong> (gmail, hotmail, etc.) opens a <strong>visitor account</strong>: favorites, newsletter and event registrations.</li></ul><p>Already registered with a personal email but representing a company? Open your dashboard and use the <em>Become an exhibitor</em> button — it creates a separate exhibitor account with your work email. Your visitor account stays as it is.</p>
Two different things often get called "pricing":
- Product prices: Chemikalien Katalog is an expo, not a shop, so suppliers do not post fixed product prices. Instead you send an inquiry or request a quote, and the company replies with terms for your specific need — free once you have verified a work email.
- Membership plans: Chemikalien Katalog does not publish a public price list. Exhibiting starts with a quote: once you have verified a work email, you request a quotation, we ask a few questions about your company and goals, and you receive a tailored offer — which you can accept as-is or extend with optional add-ons.<p>You can compare everything each plan includes — without prices — on the public plan comparison page (Plans in the menu). Prices are shared only through a personal quotation: register with your work email and request a quote.</p>
After you register, SCMist sends a verification email to the address you signed up with. Open it and click the verification link to activate your account. The link is valid for a limited time after it is sent.
Didn't receive the email, or did your link expire?
- Check your spam or junk folder first.
- If it's not there, or the link has expired, go to the resend page and enter your email address to receive a fresh verification link. You can reach this from the link on the login page (shown when an unverified account tries to sign in), from the message shown right after you register, and from the expired/invalid verification screens.
- Each new link replaces any previous one, so always use the most recent email.
The verification email is sent with your domain's branding, and the link takes you to your own SCMist site to complete verification.
If you still don't receive it after a few tries, the address may be mistyped on your account — contact support to have it corrected.

- The button tooltip shows your usage (e.g. 7/24).
- Want the same item featured again another week? Elect it again — that's a new placement.
- Need more? Newsletter Packs (10/25/50/100) are available in the Shop, valid 12 months.
If an item loses approval or expires before sending, the placement is automatically refunded.
In your dashboard, pick your country first. The location field then adapts to that country - it asks for a State in the USA, a Province in Canada, a Bolge in Turkiye, a Prefecture in Japan, and so on. Choose your region, then type your city and postal code. The field label and postal label always match the country you selected, shown in your chosen language. A correct location helps buyers find you in the right regional listings.
